Terms of service

Last updated: 6 September 2026

Welcome to NUALA CORK. These Terms set out the basis on which we sell to you through this website. Please read them before placing an order — by placing an order, you agree to them.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Where these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer protection law in the country where you live, that law applies.

1. Using this website

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.

You may not use this website for any unlawful purpose, to distribute malicious code, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or data, to scrape or harvest personal information, or to interfere with the site's security or normal operation.

We may suspend or withdraw access to the site where these Terms are breached.

2. Our products

Cork is a natural material. Grain, tone, density and surface texture vary from piece to piece, and no two items are identical. This variation is a property of the material and is not a fault.

We take care to photograph our products accurately, but colours can appear differently depending on your screen. Slight differences between the images on the site and the item you receive are normal.

Products may be available in limited quantities or online only. We may change our range, limit quantities per customer, or discontinue a product at any time. This does not affect orders we have already accepted.

3. Prices

All prices are shown in euro and include VAT at the applicable rate. Delivery costs are shown separately and are confirmed before you complete your order.

For deliveries within the European Union there are no customs duties or import charges — the price you pay at checkout is the total amount due.

We may change prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders we have already accepted.

If we discover an obvious pricing or description error before we accept your order, we will contact you before proceeding, and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

4. How a contract is formed

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our order confirmation email acknowledges that we have received it, but does not create a contract.

A contract is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation email. If we cannot accept your order — for example because an item is out of stock, we cannot verify payment, or there has been a pricing error — we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

Please check that the name, address and contact details you provide at checkout are correct. We are not responsible for deliveries that fail because the information given was inaccurate or incomplete.

5. Delivery

Delivery timescales shown on the site are estimates.

We will deliver your order within 30 days of the contract being formed, unless we have agreed a different period with you. If we miss that deadline, you may set us an additional reasonable period, and if we fail to deliver within it, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund.

Risk in the goods passes to you when you, or someone you have nominated, takes physical possession of them. Until then, the goods are our responsibility.

We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including carrier disruption, extreme weather, strikes or natural disasters. Where such an event occurs, we will contact you as soon as possible; if the delay is substantial, you may cancel and receive a full refund.

6. Faulty goods and returns

You have a legal guarantee of two years from delivery covering goods that are faulty, not as described, or not fit for their purpose.

You also have the right to cancel most orders within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason.

Both are set out in full in our Refund & Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

All content on this website — our name, logo, branding, product photography, text, graphics and designs — belongs to us or is used under licence, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law.

You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish or use our content commercially without our written permission.

8. Our liability to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence.

We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any breach of your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity.

Subject to the above, we are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable at the time the contract was made, or for any loss arising in the course of a business — including lost profit, lost business or lost opportunity. Our products are supplied for domestic and private use.

We take reasonable care to keep the website available and free from harmful code, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this page at the moment you placed it — later changes do not apply retrospectively.

We will post any updated Terms here and change the "Last updated" date above.

10. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live. You may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country, and we will only bring proceedings against you in the courts of the country where you live.

12. General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.

If we do not insist that you meet an obligation under these Terms, or delay in enforcing our rights, that does not mean we have given up those rights.

You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to someone else without our agreement.

13. Complaints and contact

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at info@nualacork.com — we would rather resolve it directly.

Consumers in Ireland can also seek information or assistance from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at ccpc.ie, or from the European Consumer Centre Ireland at eccireland.ie for cross-border purchases within the EU.
